Cuomo Agrees That Students Have Too Many Standardized Tests

ALBANY, N.Y. Governor Andrew Cuomo stated that, like the Obama administration, he sees that schools now place too much value on standardized testing, reported PoliticoNew York.

Cuomo pointed out that New York has already taken steps to reduce standardized testing, such as banning such testing below the third grade, limiting the amount of time allowed for test preparation, and requiring the state’s Department of Education to identify and eliminate unnecessary testing. The state is still reviewing standards and the tests themselves, according to PoliticoNew York.
