'Little Mermaid' Comes Alive At Mamaroneck Avenue School

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Students, teachers and volunteers have come together to create a production of "The Little Mermaid" at Mamaroneck Avenue School on Thursday, Jan. 23 through Saturday, Jan. 25. 

Based on the Hans Christian Anderson story and set to music by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, The Little Mermaid tells the story of a young mermaid of who dreams of life and love on land and makes a Faustian bargain to get it.

The production is the latest by the Mamaroneck Avenue School Theater Company, which stages complete musicals performed exclusively by students in grades 3-5. Previous productions have included Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma and Into The Woods.
