MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A School-Based Health Center informational meeting will take place Monday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. at Mamaroneck Avenue School.
The SBHC Task Force, a subcommittee of the district Wellness Committee, presents what it has learned so far about school-based health centers. The informational portion of the meeting will be followed by a time for questions, which will be answered or noted for further study. The work of the task force, including questions and comments raised on Jan. 12, will be incorporated into the subcommittee's report to the Board of Education.
On Jan. 20, following the subcommittee's report, the Board of Education will discuss possible next steps in the ongoing evaluation of the need, challenges and benefits of a SBHC in any of the schools. It is important to note that given the amount of work yet to do, no decisions have been made at this time and the task force will not be giving a recommendation.
