More than 260 kids swam, biked and ran their way to the finish line at Hommocks School, according to a news release from the school district. Roughly 200 volunteers supported the kids at the event.
Schools Foundation Triathlon Chair Carolyn Lee said in the release she was delighted with the results.
“We were so fortunate to have an amazing day which could not have been accomplished without the support of our sponsors, help of our volunteers and parents and the participation by our athletes," Lee said in the release. "Congratulations all of the student triathletes that competed this year. I look forward to this event every year and cannot wait for 2014."
The Mamaroneck Schools Foundation is a nonprofit volunteer organization that "provides public schools in the Larchmont/Mamaroneck district with supplemental funds for innovative, teacher-initiated programs, materials, equipment, and enhanced facilities that fall outside the scope of the regular school budget," according to the release.
