Jigar Jadav, a computer science teacher at Mamaroneck High, led the team of students at the recent Westchester Smart Mobile App Competition.

The students competed against more than 40 other teams from Westchester County, New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey.

The Mamaroneck High team earned second place for the app’s usability, second place for the app’s creativity, and a third-place caregiver award that included an $850 cash award.

Several of Jadav’s students also recently won awards at the New York State Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conference in Rochester.

Jadav, who also leads an American Computer Science League (ACSL) team at Mamaroneck High, is hoping that team will soon compete in their first-ever All-Star competition in Orlando, Fla.
