Both lawyers were recognized in the Public Service category, which honors attorneys who have demonstrated leadership through careers in public service or devotion to improving the legal system and the profession in New York, according to the journal's website.

On October 14th, Carlisle and Merton will be formally recognized, along with 27 other lawyers, at an awards dinner in Manhattan.
