MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A proposal that would have Mamaroneck schools partner with an outside not-for-profit health provider at Mamaroneck Avenue School has the community divided, according to LoHud.com.

Open Door already runs school-based clinics in other neighboring towns like Port Chester and Ossining. Those who support the proposal say it will help keep kids in class while addressing gaps in health care for lower-income students. Opponents, on the other hand, say the clinic could create security problems and lead to more sick kids going to school, LoHud.com reported.
