Cueto Leads Rye Neck Into Sectional Football Final

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Pedro Cueto rolled into the end zone with the go-ahead touchdown and added a two-point conversion to propel Rye Neck to a 28-10 semifinal victory over Bronxville in the Section 1 Class C football playoffs Saturday.

The Rye Neck Panthers -- also known as Black Hats because of the color of their helmets -- will face Woodlands, a 39-14 winner over Dobbs Ferry in the other Class C semifinal, on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m. for the championship at Mahopac High School. The winner advances to the state tournament.

The host Panthers were plagued by penalties in the first half and trailed 10-6 in the third quarter until Cueto made the score 14-10 with his power running late in the third quarter. Rye Neck added two more scores to close out the win.
