Overview of accomplishments/achievements from Mamaroneck softball coach Allison Bedosky:
As a junior, Emma is now in her third year on the varsity softball team at Mamaroneck High School.
After completing this season on the MHS Varsity basketball team where she was named Captain for next year, she continued to display her leadership when during the first week of the spring season she expressed her desire to play “wherever the team needs me.”
Emma has gone from being a solid infielder, to becoming the backbone of the outfield as our centerfielder.
She is tied for most triples on the team, is batting .472 with an on base percentage of .548, and is leading the team with a slugging percentage of .861.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, she is an outstanding student and was recently elected to the MHS chapter of the National Honor Society. Beyond academic excellence Emma is also a Peer Mentor and a member of many of school clubs including: At Home on the Sound and MHS 4 Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Emma is also an upstanding citizen of the Sound Shore community exemplified by volunteering for Tiger Softball Camps, LMLL tryouts, and many community outreach programs.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
As a junior, spare time is a luxury, but besides softball and basketball, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
In general I like being active, so whether it is playing a competitive softball game, or a pickup game with my teammates I love to be in an energetic environment.
Favorite restaurant in town?
Haiku on Mamaroneck Avenue.
Favorite subject in school?
English
What are some reasons for your success?
One of the biggest reasons for my success is an ability to embrace being a team player. When I encourage my teammates it can boost the spirit of the entire team and also give me the confidence to succeed.
Another reason I am successful is because I can balance my sports, homework, and social life throughout the school year. Of course, the support of my family, friends, teammates, and coaches is definitely vital to my success.
Biggest influences on your varsity career?
My teammates, no one has pushed me to be my best and supported me as much as those girls.
Person you would most like to meet?
Malala Yousafzai, because she is one of the most courageous, brave, and inspiring women in the world. She inspires me to fight for what I want, and to never stop pushing forward.
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
I am not sure right now because I have a wide range of interests. When I choose a major in college hopefully it will be something I enjoy and that will guide me in the direction of a successful future.
