Mamaroneck HS Relay Team Sets 4X800 Record

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Mamaroneck High School girls 4x800 relay team won the national championship and set multiple records at the New Balance Armory in New York City on Saturday night.

The team -- seniors Shari Rauls, Lauren Chapey, Katie DeVore and sophomore Lauren Shpiz -- ran a time of 8:58.86, which was the seventh-fastest time in American high school history.

The time also broke school, county, sectional and state records.

DeVore set a personal record of 2:08 in the anchor leg to win the first national championship in Mamaroneck girls track history.
