MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Mamaroneck High School alumni Charlotte Gardiner and Cathleen Smith continue to receive postseason field hockey honors.

Both Gardiner, a senior at Middlebury College, and Smith, a senior at Bowdoin College, were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America second team. This came after the former Mamaroneck teammates were both chosen for the All-New England Region West and New England Small College Athletic Conference first teams.

Gardiner, a midfielder and captain, led Middlebury to the NESCAC title and the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships.

Smith finished with 13 goals and eight assists as Bowdoin reached the NESCAC final and qualified for the NCAA Divison III Field Hockey Championships.

Gardiner and Smith were captains on the 2008 Mamaroneck field hockey team that won the Section 1 Class A title. They led Mamaroneck in scoring and were both all-section and all-state picks their senior year.
