MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Mamaroneck High School boys basketball team will host several local teams in the Sound Shore Classic on Friday and Saturday, including the Rye Neck Panthers.
Mamaroneck won its own tournament last year for the first time since the 2007-08 season, and the same four teams will participate this year. Rye will face Harrison in the first game Friday at 5 p.m., while the host Tigers will take on local rival Rye Neck at 7 p.m.
The winners will face off in the championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday, while the losers will meet in the consolation game at 5 p.m.
Rye Neck took Mamaroneck to the final minute in the first round of last year’s tournament but lost by three points. The Panthers then came up short to Rye, 48-41, in the consolation game.
