Rye Neck's Football Juggernaut Rolls On

MAMARONECK, N.Y. ‒ The only thing that has stopped the Rye Neck varsity football team this season was a bye week.

The Panthers opened with two convincing wins then had a Saturday off in week three. They return to the field Saturday at 1:30 p.m. when they host Yonkers Montessori Academy.

In Rye Neck’s wins it outscored Blind Brook and Palisades Prep 91-0.

The Panthers have run through opposing defenses to the tune of 775 yards on only 55 carries. Junior Ryan Morningstar has 199 yards on the ground and three touchdowns, and classmate Jakob Calvini has 198 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Calvini has also been a force defensively with a team-high 14 tackles, including two sacks and a fumble recovery. Raff Mestanza has registered 11 tackles and Matt Brennan owns 10.
