The tweet is from Tuesday and it has garnered 125 retweets and 221 favorites. On Thursday ESPN's SportsCenter acquiesced and featured the goal in its Top 10 Plays.

"Really? Now, they would lose but that goal was still pretty impressive," the ESPN anchor says of the goal during the broadcast.

The goal was scored by Suffern Senior Myles Solan in the teams 2-1 loss to Scarsdale in the boys soccer Class AA Section 1 quarterfinals.

“I actually found out about it today in school,” Solan said on Thursday.

A friend of his in college, Devin Connell, caught the top plays rundown, took a video of it from his laptop, and sent it out.

The goal clip came from a Clarkstown broadcast of the game, which was played at Suffern Middle School on Monday.

Josh Southern, who handles the Twitter account, grabbed the goal clip from there. Subsequently Southern and others began tweeting the clip out, texting it to people, and asking them to also tweet it out at SportsCenter to build momentum.

The goal came in at number six on the list.

"Really? Now, they would lose but that goal was still pretty impressive."

Following a defensive header from Scarsdale player, a teammate plays Solan the ball and he who receives it around the 25 yard mark in the clip.

“When I received the ball, I was a little bit wider,” he said. Solan saw two Scarsdale players pursuing him, trying to push him wide.

He cut the ball back behind him and could kind of see the goalkeeper was off his line and not positioned centrally in the goal; he was a little to the left. So, Solan went top right.

“I tried to lift the ball and chip it,” he said. Solan said he barely followed through in order to let the ball float over the goalkeeper's head. In the video it curls up and loops over the goalkeeper into the back of the net. Cheers erupt in the video as Solan is swarmed by his teammates.

The shot was taken from about 30 yards out.

Toward the end of school day Solan was in the library for a study hall when a bunch of people came up to him to talk about it. As he left school later that day and walked toward his car plenty of other students were asking him about it, telling him they caught the clip, and how great it is for Suffern.

“I think it was a really cool way to go out with a bang,” Solan said.

Solan, who plays his club soccer for Ramapo Valley Soccer Club and his varsity coach Bob Walkley, will be attending Cornell University next year where he'll run track.
