Talia will be attending Amherst College, where she will be playing lacrosse.
Overview of accomplishments/achievements from MHS girls lacrosse coach, Rocky Lividini:
Talia has been in varsity since her sophomore year. Now a senior and captain she is an unbelievable player, leader and teammate.
This season, she is one of the top goalies in Section 1. In the 2015 season she played and started all 17 games and had 163 Saves.
So far in the 2016 season, she has started and played in all 9 of our games and has 58 saves.
Not only is Talia a phenomenal goalie who literally stands on her head, she is the most positive and enthusiastic player I have ever coached.
She is always the one to lift up other players if they are down or to bring the team together when games or practices get tough. She is that teammate that you look to calm you down. She is a pleasure to coach and I love watching her play and make saves I didn’t even think were possible.
Q&A with Talia:
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my time away from lacrosse, I like to watch other Mamaroneck sports games, hang out with my friends, or just relax at home and read or listen to music. I also really enjoy playing soccer and basketball, both of which I have been playing since I was really little.
Favorite restaurant in town?
I don’t go as much as I wish I did, but I love the chicken and fries at Garden Catering on Mamaroneck Avenue.
Favorite subject in school?
I take AP Gov this year and I love it. One of the highlights of my whole high school experience was our trip to the New Hampshire Primary in February.
What are some reasons for your success?
I would say the time I have put in has a lot to do with how successful my lacrosse career is. I played rec starting in first grade, travel since sixth, and my club team, House of Sports, since ninth grade.
I ended up missing a lot of social or school events in high school due to lacrosse tournaments, early practices, etc, but in the end all the time and hard work definitely paid off.
I also think a great amount of my success can be credited from to my amazing school and club coaches as well as my teammates and parents who have pushed and supported me day in and day out.
Biggest influences on your varsity career?
Besides my incredible teammates, my parents have played the biggest role in influencing me to push myself everyday playing the sport that I love. I cannot thank them enough for the countless hours spent driving to lacrosse events, as well as anxiously standing by the side of the field where I’m standing in goal for every single game. I was also greatly influenced and supported by the whole LMYL travel program but especially by my 6th grade travel coach, Eric Seifert, without whom I would not being playing goalie.
Person you would most like to meet?
This is kind of embarrassing, but I was a Jonas Brothers fan way after I should have been (aka two years ago), so for that reason I would have to say it would be a life goal of mine achieved to meet Nick Jonas.
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself possibly living in D.C. doing something in either politics or journalism or maybe both.
I also hope that my relationship with lacrosse doesn’t end after college, so it would be really cool to end up coaching at any sort of level.
