Q&A with Paige:
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I really like spending time with friends and decompressing at home with my family. One of my favorite things to do is go on walks with my mom and my Bernese Mountain dog, Maverick. I also help my brother and sister with their business, Fair Harbor Clothing, when I have the time.
Favorite restaurant in town?
My favorite restaurant in town is Durian, the Thai restaurant in Larchmont. The food is amazing and it’s close to my house!
Favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school is English; I really enjoy getting my thoughts down on the page and being creative. Reading essays is the best way to learn about people and also find a story within yourself that you may not have understood before.
What are some reasons for your success?
The reason for my success comes from my family, coaches and teammates. Being the youngest of three, there has always been a competitive edge in my household. My family has encouraged me to try things outside of my comfort zone and push myself on and off of the field. My coaches are constantly motivating me to do everything I can to play beyond my potential; they show us what working hard looks like and how to compete like a champion every day. One of the best things about field hockey is that it’s a team sport and we can always count on each other. Every time I step onto the field, I never want to let my team down and that gives me the drive to always play my best.
Biggest influences on your varsity career?
My biggest influence for my varsity career has been both of my coaches, Coach Savage and Coach Miller. Every day at practice they push and motivate me to play to the best of my ability, even when I don’t think I can go anymore. Coach Savage has taught me that I always need to keep my head up and never let down. Together, they have taught me that being mentally tough is just as important as being physically fit. I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done and all of the opportunities they have given me.
Person you would most like to meet?
Savannah Guthrie. She is a strong woman with a successful career. I watch her on the Today S how every morning, she is a rock star!
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
I don’t know where I will be in 10 years, but I know at this point that I really enjoy writing and am excited about the next chapter in my life.
