Westchester Resident Griffin Gelinas Commits To Play Lacrosse At Syracuse

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Griffin Gelinas, a Bronxville native who is now a freshman at the Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn., verbally committed Friday to play lacrosse at national power Syracuse University, according to a report on LaxLessons.com.

The 5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed attackman performed well this past summer at several showcase events playing for the Cross River-based Prime Time travel team.

Gelinas has good quickness, an accurate shot and quick release to go along with his superb stick skills, according to LaxLessons.com. He also considered UVa, Penn State, Georgetown, Maryland, Air Force and Duke, according to LaxLessons.com.

Gelinas' brother, Jack, a junior at Bronxville High School, has committed to play collegiately at Bucknell.
