MAMARONECK, N.Y. - With the academic year right around the corner, officials in Mamaroneck are warning motorists to slow down around local schools and students.
New signage is being posted on Boston Post Road around the Mamaroneck High School cautioning motorists that the speed limit around schools is 20 mph from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
The new school year begins on Tuesday, Sept. 5, after Labor Day.
Additionally, there are new “school crossing ahead” signs being installed on Boston Post Road near Hommocks Middle School, in areas where there is a lot of student foot traffic.
