Mamaroneck Locations Shut Early Because Of Snow

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- With heavy snow expected in Westchester throughout Friday, the following facilities and programs in Mamaroneck will be closed or closing early Friday:

The Mamaroneck Public Library will be closed all day.

The Mamaroneck Town Center will close at 1 p.m.

The senior center at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on the Boston Post Road will be closed all day.

The Zumba Class at the VFW is cancelled.

The Hommocks Pool will be closed all day.

The Hommocks Park Ice Rink will close at 5:30 p.m.

The Maxwell Avenue Transfer Station and recycling center will close at 2 p.m.

The blizzard warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday. An estimated 10-14 inches of snow is possible throughout the day. Strong winds and poor visibility is likely, and the National Weather Service advises drivers to stay off the roads.
