Thunderstorms Cause Brief Outages In Larchmont

Thursday night's thunderstorms caused power outages in 32 households around Larchmont, according to the outage map on Con Edison's website.

Friday morning, a Con Edison worker parked off of Highwood Way, where a problem with a tranformer at the end of the dead-end street had affected 16 customers, said he was "following up" after a crew restored service to the street around 3 a.m.

A resident on Highwood Way, said she lost power after 8 p.m. and that it returned around 3 a.m. A few streets over on Copely Ave, Brad Lucas was surprised his street didn't lose power.

"Usually anytime the wind blows we lose power," he said.

Other affected areas included Chestnut Ave off of Kane Ave, where 13 households were affected. Both Addison Ave and Pinebrook Dr. each had a house without power, according to the power company.
