MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Laura Saravia Bott wanted to bring a bit of Brooklyn to Westchester.
And so, after experimenting with a pop-up in November 2015, T he Bott Shoppe, which provides art-based goods, services and events, is now a permanent fixture; a combination design studio, gift shop, art gallery and events space all rolled into one.
To that end, the store is all about being a community-based retailer that not only provides goods, but offers a multi-revenue stream for the creative arts.
The shop boasts graphic design services, hosts art shows, sells handmade goods from local makers, features art supplies and provides affordable workshops for artists and small businesses.
And, they put on events at other locations, including the Food Truck & Makers Market on Sunday, April 30; go HERE for details.
If that's not enough, Bott, who lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn, is also entrenched in area groups.
"We believe it's extremely important to give back as business owners so we volunteer our time and efforts to local organizations, including the local schools," she explained.
New for spring: Young Artists' Art & Design Classes focused on fundamentals and techniques.
And, with Mother's Day approaching, there's plenty of gift options to consider including Gratitude Gardens, terrariums with a crystal for extra holistic meaning. You'll also find Everything Soulful, essential oils with healing crystals, new pillows to freshen up your living space as well as an expansion of art supplies.
The Bott Shoppe is at 606 Mamaroneck Ave., (914) 630-4234, www.bottandco.com/bottshoppe/ .
