The popular shop on Boston Post Road, which opened in May 2016, was given one week to shut down after being denied a special permit by the Mamaroneck Zoning Board of Appeals who says long lines and parking raised issues raised concerns by neighbors.

Owner Scott Rosenberg took action to try and help ease any issues by hiring extra staff, realigning the parking and expanding to the building next door.

But his efforts fell on deaf ears with the zoning board who revoked Ralph's certificate of occupancy and adopted a resolution that denies his application for a special use permit.

According to the resolution, the shop known for its yummy sprinkles and icy treats has created "dangerous conflicts and unsafe conditions for drivers, pedestrians, and customers."

A sign on the order counter cited the closure, reading: "Thanks to Village of Mam'k Boards and other local haters."  Rosenberg has said that he may take legal action.

Employees, who have tried to save the shop by having customers sign a petition, said Tuesday there was a steady line of customers as word spreads of the possible closure.

Once closed, those wanting a special Ralph's treat will have to drive to its second locale along Route 22 in North White Plains.
