Almost 3,000 Yorktown Residents Came Out For Inaugural 2016 Ball Drop

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Nearly 3,000 residents of Yorktown and neighboring towns gathered to celebrate the arrival of 2016 together for the inaugural New Year's Ball Drop.

Presented by the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Town of Yorktown, the New Year's Eve celebration took place at the intersection of Commerce Street and Veterans Road. downtown.

Yorktown DJ Connection Live kicked off the New Year's festivities, and the evening was emceed by Bruce Apar. A countdown announced the ball’s descent, which was greeted by a pyrotechnic display at midnight and fireworks.
