The next event is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, according to organizers.

The group intends to meet at The Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park, which is located in the building on the left just past the park's entrance booth, according to organizers.

From there, the group will walk through Harbor Island while "birding," according to organizers, who said a second location in the Mamaroneck/Larchmont area will be added to the walk at some point this year.

The walks are geared toward adults, but all levels of experience are welcome, organizers said, adding that some extra binoculars and a telescope will be available for use. Attendees are still urged to bring their own equipment if possible.
