The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Light The Night Walk” on Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. includes music, fireworks, entertainment, family activities, and a walk along the Hudson through Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown.

Approximately 4,000 people are expected to take part in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Westchester County Light The Night Walk, which starts at Kingsland Point County Park in Sleepy Hollow.

Held for the past 8 years at Rye Playland, LLS has transitioned the event to Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown this year.

Free parking for the event is located at Edge-On-Hudson, adjacent to the Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse, with entry from the main gate at the intersection of Beekman Avenue and River Street.

Teams of co-workers, families and friends will walk together in twilight holding illuminated lanterns – white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold for those walking in memory of a loved one lost to blood cancer.

The walk is intended to be an inspirational community event that raises awareness, as well as funds for research and treatment options to eliminate cancer.

Local sponsors of the event include: Edge-on-Hudson, Cornerstone Wealth Management, HM Insurance Group, Houlihan Lawrence, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Phelps Memorial Hospital, Ginsburg Development Companies, and The Westchester Bank. Media partners include: Inspiria Media, Westchester Magazine, Westchester Family, 100.7 WHUD, and News 12 Westchester.
