The family walk is co-sponsored by the Village of Mamaroneck Tree Committee and the Westchester Land Trust.
Tate Bushell, director of stewardship and ecologist at the Westchester Land Trust, will be the guide. He will help identify 12-15 tree species growing at the preserve.
He will focus on the specific ecological settings in which the individual tree species grow and show signs that these settings are changing at the preserve.
Participants will walk the full length of the preserve’s loop trail.
He also will talk about the Otter Creek Preserve’s forest, its natural history and importance to the community.
No registration or fee is required. All adults and children are welcome.
For the walk, meet on Taylors Lane, Rye Neck, at the entrance to the Otter Creek Preserve.
