The organization, originally called the Peekskill Motor Boat Club, was incorporated in 1908.

The club is a “working” club, meaning that members are responsible for everything from cleaning up the club house and grounds to working on the marina docks and setting poles and docks for the city.

Club members are active in Peekskill events, such as parades and other celebrations. According to its website, members are often the first responders at the scene of water rescues.

The club also holds safe boating classes and hosts a Sea Scout troop as part of its educational efforts.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is also located there.
