Described as a "shy guy who's made huge strides in his confidence and is ready to take on the world," Hank entered the animal shelter along with 11 brothers and sisters from somewhere in the south, according the SPCA.

While none of the puppies has been properly socialized, Hank does warm up once he's comfortable with his surroundings, according to the SPCA, which said he bonds well with people and would likely do well in a home with children no younger than 12 years old.

Hank also has a fondness for other dogs, according to the SPCA, which said he'd likely flourish in a home with other dogs.

Hank is available on a "foster-to-adopt" basis. To schedule a meeting with him or any of the other animals up for adoption at the SPCA of Westchester, email trainer@spca914.org.
