Larchmont Couple at the Heart of Twist of Fate

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Adam and Dayna Reist have spent 20 years playing music together and 15 as the principal members of the Caribbean rock cover band Twist of Fate, who played the Concert at Flint Park Thursday night.

The married couple have lived in Larchmont for 10 years and always look forward to playing with their band in Flint Park. "This is one of my favorite shows that we do all year," he said. "We have two kids ourselves, so it's nice that they can come and watch, too. It's one of those quintessential venues."

Adam, the lead singer for Twist of Fate, starts every concert with Jimmy Buffets "A Pirate Looks at 40," but lets their 100-song playlist "go with the flow that night," he said. Thursday, he went with Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" for their second song. Twist of Fate also played select songs from their third album "Positivity," released last year.

Adam and Dayna's neighbors Andrea and Eric Seyard turned out early to listen to their friends play. "They're awesome," said Erin Fuller, a mutual friend.

Before living in Larchmont, the musical couple lived in New York City, where Adam worked on "Guiding Light," which is the longest running drama in television and radio history, running from 1937 through 2009. Adam began on the directing team in the early 1989, then became stage manager. He spent the last five years of the show's 72-year run as the director.

"To me, music and film making have always been my two passions," he said. "When I was a kid, I always had a microphone or a camera in my hand."

Twist of Fate will be playing at the Shore Club Saturday July 16 and then at the Town of Mamaroneck summer concert series at Memorial Park Monday July 25.
