Westchester residents interested in how to deal safely with coyotes can learn that and more during an upcoming forum at the Mamaroneck Public Library.

Scheduled for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, in the library's community room, the event is sponsored by Lauren Rush, a local veterinary assistant, and representative for the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem.

During the event, Dr. Daniel Bogan, a lecturer in environmental studies at Siena College and a wildlife technician with the state Department of Environmental Conservation in Albany, will speak about the importance of the coyote in the Sound Shore ecosystems, and how to safely interact with coyotes.

The Mamaroneck Public Library is at 136 Prospect Ave. Admission is free.
