The house, one of the oldest buildings in Mamaroneck, was the site of the marriage of James Fenimore Cooper to Susan Delancey in 1811.

The Historical Society and Friends of the Delancey-Cooper house want to raise more than $2 million, which is the asking price for the house. They are looking for major donors who understand the importance of protecting the historic home for generations to come. The goal is that the house will become a museum.

Donations are tax deductible. Donations can be made online here, or by sending a check payable to the Mamaroneck Historical Society-DeLancey Fund to: Friends of DeLancey-Cooper House, 1226 Palmer Ave., Larchmont, NY 10538.
