Mamaroneck's Weaver Street Bridge Renovation Delayed

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Mamaroneck and Larchmont residents who use the Weaver Street Bridge  will have to wait a little longer than anticipated to cross over the I-95 overpass as renovations have been delayed, the Village of Larchmont announced on its website.

The new estimated date for completion has been planned for Aug. 22.

Traffic will continue to be re-routed over the Rockland Avenue Bridge and the Chatsworth Avenue Bridge during the renovation period, the village said.

The bridge closed June 3 so the state Department of Transportation (DOT) could replace its deck, curbs, sidewalks and fencing.  The renovations were originally intended to be completed for the bridge to reopen around July 24.

The Weaver Street Bridge, an overpass for Interstate-95, is one of 23 in the Hudson Valley and 115 statewide, that the New York State DOT identified in 2012 as in need of repair.
