Evening commuters on all three Metro-North lines experienced lengthy delays Monday that began just before the 5 p.m. rush.

Metro-North Harlem and New Haven Line service is delayed in both directions due to police activity in the vicinity of Botanical Gardens Monday afternoon.

The delays are up to 60 minutes, Metro-North reported in an announcement at 5:27 p.m.

Hudson Line delays of up to 30 minutes were repported buy Metro-North at 6:56 p.m. as a result of congestion, it said.

Previous Harlem and New Haven Line delays of 35 to 45 minutes had been reported by Metro-North in a 4:22 p.m. announcement.

Customers are advised to listen for announcements at local stations.
