What's on the Agenda in Mamaroneck?

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- The Columbus Day holiday abbreviated the week in municipal meetings by one day, but there is still a full docket this week in local government. Residents will have the following opportunities to get involved.

Monday

Columbus Day

Tuesday

The village Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the courtroom, where the board will address the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club's (MBAYC) threat of a lawsuit. The meeting may begin on a happy note with the Police Department Awards and a presentation on the Mamaroneck Shares summer block parties, but that could quickly change when the board reaches item E - Resolution confirming village policy that state-owned lands remain in the hands of the public. The Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club has requested the rights to Otter Creek, portions of which is state owned, be transferred from the public to the club to build waterfront housing. This resolution would halt that plan. For the full agenda, click here.

The town Recreation Commission will meet at 7:30 in Conference Room A at Town Center.

Wednesday

The village Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. in the courtroom to consider three dumpster permits, and the sub-division of a 10,000 square-foot lot into two lots on 306 Soundview Ave. They will also honor a requested discussion on a wetland permit for 1084 Bayhead Drive. The town Planning Board will meet at 8 p.m. in Conference Room C at Town Center.

Thursday

The village Board of Traffic Commissioners will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Courtroom.
