O'Connor was born in Rockaway Beach on Aug. 31, 1932, to Joseph and Mildred (Stothard) O'Connor.
He graduated from Xavier High School in Manhattan, Fordham University and Fordham Law School.
After serving as a first lieutenant in the Army in Korea from 1954 to 1956, he worked as a corporate attorney for Mobil Oil Corporation in Manhattan for more than 30 years and as a real estate attorney after retiring from Mobil.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Bunyan), four daughters, Noreen, Patricia, Mary and her partner, Dennis Di Buono, and Ann and partner. Christopher Cornell, one grandson, two sisters, Barbara and her partner John Hofmann, and Joanne and her partner, James McCue), and brother Francis and his wife Annette.
O'Connor was predeceased by his his brother, Joseph, and son-in-law David Cole.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church in Larchmont.
