Moses Torian, 84, Longtime Mamaroneck Resident, U.S. Postal Employee

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Moses Torian, a longtime resident Mamaroneck and former resident of New Rochelle, died June 10. He was 84.

Torian was born Feb. 26, 1929, to Edward and Julia (Connally) Torian in Leasburg, N.C. A graduate of New Rochelle public schools, he then served in the United States Coast Guard. He was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office and retired after many years of service. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Baptist Church of New Rochelle.

Torian is survived by his daughters, Lauren Thomas (Donald Jr.) and Donna Tyler; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Torian (Pearl); and sister, Hallie Taylor. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Doris Rogers; and sister, Dorothy Harrelson.

Calling hours are Friday, June 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zion Evangelical Baptist Church 50 Lockwood Ave., New Rochelle. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at the church. Interment in Beechwoods Cemetery.
