Nicola D’Ippolito, 88, Of Mamaroneck, Owned Nursery And Fruit Stand

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Nicola (Nick) D’Ippolito of Mamaroneck died Sept. 6. He was 88.

D’Ippolito was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Colledemezzo, Italy, to Pasquale and Giacinta D'Ippolito. He immigrated to this country in 1947 where he became a bricklayer and then together with his wife owned a nursery and fruit stand for over 40 years in Mamaroneck.

D’Ippolito is survived by his wife, Teresa; son, Pat DePole (Rebecca); daughter, Toni Band (Elliot); brother, Gino (Dora); and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Monday, Sept. 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in Elmsford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Shrub Oak. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
