WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A Westchester County teenager is facing multiple misdemeanor charges after being busted with a fake ID following an alleged shoplifting incident at a Walmart location on New Year’s Eve.
Officers from the Town of Ulster Police Department were dispatched to Walmart shortly before 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 31, where there were reports of shoplifters who allegedly stole more than $100 worth of merchandise from the store on Frank E. Sottile Boulevard.
According to police, it is alleged that Larchmont resident Leah Pearlstein and Sea Cliff resident Jamie Commando, both 19, left the store and were caught attempting to leave the store without paying for $117.52 in goods.
During arrest processing, it was further determined that Pearlstein was in possession of a fraudulent Florida driver’s license and Commando was in possession of a fraudulent Illinois driver’s license.
Both Pearlstein and Commando were arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument. They have since been released and are due back in the Town of Ulster Justice Court later this year to answer the charges.
