Mamaroneck Man ID'd As Missing Tappan Zee Driver

MAMARONECK, N.Y.-- A 20-year-old Mamaroneck man has been identified as the driver who abandoned his car on the Tappan Zee Bridge and possibly jumped into the Hudson River, according to a statement by the State Police.

Denis Lukashkov’s identification was found on the dashboard of his grey Honda Accord along with the keys to the vehicle, which led troopers to start a recovery operation.

The car was found at approximately 4:25 a.m., Wednesday.

No note was left and units have been searching the river with divers and aircraft to no avail. No witnesses have come forward.

Lukashkov was attending Cornell University, where he studied economics, according to his Facebook profile.
