Guadalupe Perez, 24, of the Bronx, was tracked down by troopers around 6:31 p.m. Monday on the Taconic State Parkway near Hopewell Junction after the department received 911 calls about an erratic driver, said Trooper AJ Hicks.

When troopers approached Perez's vehicle, which was traveling about 40 to 50 miles per hour and at times failed to maintain a single lane, they attempted to pull over the vehicle, Hicks said.

Instead of complying, Perez kept driving for several miles before finally pulling over, he added.

When asked why she refused to stop, she told troopers she thought they were an ambulance and didn't need to pull over.

An investigation found that Perez was driving without a license or registration, but was not impaired, and drugs or alcohol were not involved, he added.

Perez was issued several traffic tickets.
