Xin Han Lin, 46, an employee at Smoking King in Mount Kisco was busted selling a mango flavored product to an undercover minor on Tuesday, police said.

The operation was part of a series of ongoing compliance checks to ensure that businesses are adhering to recently adopted county laws that prohibit the sale of tobacco products to minors under the age of 21, up from 18.

A second vape shop in Mount Kisco was also checked as part of the sting, and it passed the compliance test.

Police said that during the sting, the minor showed a license that was not of legal age, yet Lin went through with the sale. Both he and the business’ owner were issued tickets and are due to appear in Mount Kisco Justice Court at an undisclosed date.

“Westchester County Police regularly conduct compliance checks to ensure that local businesses are not selling alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes or nicotine-based products to people under age 21,” Public Safety Commissioner Thomas Gleason stated. “We will continue to conduct these checks and will continue to work in partnership with community organizations to encourage young people to make safe and healthy choices.”
