Maria DeRose, Joern Malte Stoeckhert and Dennis Cucinella have accepted the nomination for the office of Village Trustee. DeRose, Stoeckhert and Cucinella long have been involved as members of village committees who now seek to continue to bring the village forward, emphasizing the basic ideals of the democratic process with the ever-increasing participation of all residents, business and volunteers for the betterment of the village, according to a press release.

Mayor Norman Rosenblum is a Republican.

Incumbent Democratic trustees are Ilissa Miller, Leon Potok and David Finch, who won a majority of the village board seats in 2014 as reported here by Daily Voice.

DeRose is the chair of the village's parking committee and in addition brings her experience as the North American operations manager for Lorenz Life Sciences Group International.

“It is an honor to be asked to serve as trustee," DeRose said. “I promise my service will be one of independent thinking and decisions that will be solely in the best interests of the Village without regard to personal agendas and political bosses that we have experienced lately by current members of the board of trustees.”

Cucinella added: “I was born and raised in the Village of Mamaroneck. I have seen highs and lows during that time and I am most concerned that the great vibrancy and growth we have experienced during the past six years is now threatened by personal agendas and policies in direct contrast to the wishes of the residents."

Stoeckhert brings the perspective of one who chose to become a U.S. citizen because of the values this country and village offers, according to a press release. Stoeckhert is bi-partisan and willing to defend people from all sides of the political spectrum in the interest of helping the village continue to improve, according to a press release.

“I make no promises other than that I will give it my best, listen to all sides and make decisions based on facts that help the Village of Mamaroneck," Stoeckhert said.
