Mamaroneck Acting Teacher Directs First Major Play

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck's PACE students will stage a performance of "The Diary of Anne Frank" under the direction of theatre teacher Zachary Moore. This is his first production independent of his colleagues in PACE's dance and music departments.

Moore replaced 27-year theatre teacher John Fredrickson this past September, along with dance teacher Allison Parsley, who replaced 40-year dance teacher Martie Barylick.

The two joined returning music teacher Bill Derby. To begin the year, all three collaborated on the "Musical Collage," which gives students the chance to write and choreograph a musical themselves.

In November, Parsley directed the 37th annual "Kinesthia," her first as dance instructor at MHS. Beginning Wednesday, Moore will have his chance to direct a play on his own.

The production runs through Saturday night. All performances begin at 8 p.m. in the PACE Auditorium, located on the Palmer Avenue side of the high school.
