MIDDLEBURY, VT. -- The Middlebury College duo of Margaret Souther and Charlotte Gardiner were honored for their fine field hockey season with All-America honors.Souther, a junior back and Scarsdale graduate, was named to the 2011 Longstretch/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III second team. Gardiner, a junior forward and Mamaroneck alumnus, was chosen to the third team. Gardiner finished second on the team in scoring with seven goals and nine assists.The tandem was also selected to the New England Small College Athletic Conference team. Gardiner was a first team selection and Souther was named to the second team.Former Rye standout Morgan McCauley, a senior at Wesleyan, was a second team selection.Salisbury senior and Lakeland graduate Tara McGovern joined Souther on the All-America second team.
