Lane Closure Scheduled During Weekslong Roadwork In Yonkers

There will be weekslong lane closures beginning on Friday on Yonkers Avenue in Westchester as utility crews begin a gas main installation.

The New York State Department of Transportation said that beginning on Friday, Aug. 24, there will be single-lane closures on Yonkers Avenue between Orient Street and Belmont Avenue in Yonkers. The closures are expected to take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Officials said that the utility work and lane closures are anticipated to last through mid-October. During the scope of the project, motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes, when possible.
