Wrongful Death Suit Filed By Estate Of Atlantic City Swimmer Killed By Drunken Boater
The family of a woman killed while swimming near her Atlantic City townhouse is has announced a lawsuit against the boater charged in her death. Norma Michaels, 79, of Atlantic City, died on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, when she was hit by a boat propeller just off the dock of her South Boulevard Avenue townhome. Jeffrey Jastrzembski, 53, of Atlantic City, was charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter. A concerned group of citizens in a quaint South Jersey town is hoping to change the fate of a shuttered funeral home steeped in history that's been put up for sale. The house at 334 Chester Ave., in Moorestown dates back to 1886, and was most recently the Lankenau Funeral Home. The funeral home sold the property to developers in 2022 for approximately $650,000, then, the developer subdivided the property and sold off a half-acre for a new home. NJ Transit is rolling out a new policy for its one-way tickets. Beginning Monday, July 1, all one-way tickets will expire after 30 days, NJ Transit announced.
